Edwin James Join The 5% Club to show commitment to apprentice and graduate programmes
Edwin James companies Parker, Musk and Peak have been accepted into The 5% Club.
The 5% Club is a dynamic movement of employers committed to ‘earn and learn’ in order to build and develop the workforce they need as part of a socially mobile, thriving and cohesive nation.
Joining The 5% Club shows our commitment to the UK’s growth agenda and acknowledges the chronic skills shortage and youth unemployment that the UK faces. It also acknowledges the importance of developing our people and gives us the opportunity to formalise what we are doing in terms of apprentice and graduate programmes, making a public declaration that we have achieved, and are committed to reaching, 5% of our workforce as apprentices and graduates within the next 5 years.
The 5% Club has many collaboration opportunities and has a strong membership base – Our Members – The 5% Club (5percentclub.org.uk). The organisation is heavily involved with steering Government as a voice for their members and influences decisions on skills and training for apprentices and graduates. Their CEO, Mark Cameron, OBE, is a former Commodore in the Royal Navy and worked as Policy Head for Training, Education, Skills, Recruiting for the MOD – Our People – The 5% Club (5percentclub.org.uk).
