Parker Technical Services provide specialist services across five sites for a UK Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO)
History
Parker is an approved contractor with considerable knowledge of this UK Defence Infrastructure Organisation. Appointed by their client for more than six significant projects, Parker has worked on high voltage upgrades, runway refurbishments and rewires, extensive repairs on protective aircraft shelters and M&E services on two new medical and dental centres.
Solution
Each project required Parker’s specialist knowledge and skills. Services for the client and UK Defence Infrastructure Organisation included but were not limited to:
• Providing world-class HV engineering for one of the UK’s most strategic and prestigious military institutions
• Electrical fit-out for the new buildings, with two adjacent 1.5 MVA transformers, and two 1.650 MW generators
• Full M&E Design Duties (incl. BIM & Thermal Modelling & Part L full Co-ordination)
• Implementing energy-efficient Air Source Heat Pumps
• Fully co-ordinating electrical and mechanical installation drawings to BIM level 2, achieving compliance with both American and British standards
• A total AGL rewire of the runway
• Sizeable AGL upgrade, which included new dispersals, replacement of old tungsten halogen fittings and new floodlighting
• Identifying issues and finding solutions for incorrect assumptions for the projects
• Meeting USAF UFC design conditions, plus additional extract systems for specialist’s areas
• Energy Efficient lighting, including LED lighting to the atrium for enhancing emergency lighting and an Integrated Fire Strategy system
• Cat 6 Data, Public Address and telephone systems
• Security access systems
• Sound Masking
• Building Management systems
