Parker Energy was hired by one of the UK’s largest supermarkets to build a large-scale solar PV array for their distribution warehouse.
History
The Parker Energy team managed and completed a large-scale Solar PV installation with a project value of over £425,000 for the second-largest chain of supermarkets in the United Kingdom. The project took place at an existing Basingstoke distribution warehouse.
Solution
The team at Parker Energy are specialists in renewable energy. We provide our clients with energy management solutions to reduce their environmental impact, stay compliant and enhance their green credentials. Through our expertise, we can cover the full lifecycle of a project, from feasibility through design, funding, installation, operation, and maintenance.
This project required us to work safely on a metal roof in various weather conditions, while also following the client’s design and integrating multiple components in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
As well as integrating the new PV modules with the existing section board, the team produced structural reports to ensure that the roof could support the PV modules’ weight.
Results
This project will involve Parker Energy installing 4,510 solar OV modules, producing 920,040 kwh annually and helping the client to reduce CO2 emissions by 432.4 tonnes. This is the equivalent of planting 10,764 trees each year. The project is ongoing; however, due to our service delivery, the client has already asked us to look at other estates.
