Parker Technical Services was appointed by their client to manage and undertake the facilities maintenance for an extensive upgrade and fit out at a Secondary School.

History

The main element of the works focused on relocating the drama department from the ground to the second floor, bringing the previously unused second floor back into operation and providing more efficient use of the space.

Solution

The scope of the work was to completely revamp the previously mothballed area. This included a full upgrade of suspending ceilings, carpets and vinyl flooring, decorations, new furniture, heating and plumbing, LED lighting and general power, fire alarms and communication systems.

The new drama space was further fitted out to include a new lighting rig, sound system and drapes.

The ground floor space was converted into a standard classroom. Furthermore, we introduced to the ground floor 2 additional large teaching spaces, a new staff kitchen area and unisex toilets.

Result

Parker Technical Services carried out the project over a period of 16 weeks, phasing the programme to ensure the school timetable remained normal and the school was fully operational.

Parker communicated fully with the school throughout the works and received positive feedback on completion.
