Due to exciting growth plans, new contract wins and acquisitions we are currently looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join our existing shared service finance team based in our office in Burton on Trent within commutable distant of Nottingham, Derby, Stoke and Leicester.
The overall purpose of this role is to ensure accurate and timely production of the Management Accounts (Profit & Loss Statements) and working alongside the Commercial Department with Operational Managers to produce Operational Budgets and Forecasts and Operational Cashflow Forecasts
This role will include a variety of tasks including the following:
- Oversee Month End Close Down of the Finance System with the Financial Controller
- Produce Contract Value Reviews (Profit & Loss Statements for all jobs over £10k)
- Prepare and distribute Job Profit Reports
- Produce statement of Accruals & Prepayments
- Oversee the Checking of Area Reports and Contract Value Review calculations
- Produce LTW Statement using FRS102
- Productions of the Management Accounts (Profit & Loss Statements) for the Central Region
- Produce Ad-hoc Reports from P & L Analysis
- Provide analysis of under/overspends within Overheads
- Prepare a Sales & GP Reconciliation and a Costing Reconciliation
- Supervise 2 Accounting Apprentices (including managing workloads and development)
- Produce and update forecast models for Revenue and GP across the central business, (circa 13 Areas) alongside Operational Managers
- Produce and update Cashflow Models for contracts over £250k
- Produce and Update Yearly Budget Models
- Monitor WIP for Aged works and clear as necessary
- Prepare and Submit National Statistics Returns
- Provide Finance Training to Contract Managers to improve accuracy of Reporting

- Ideally educated to a level appropriate this post in accounting and who is either working towards a professional accounting qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) but we recognise and welcome applications from people who are qualified by experience
- Have proven experience of working in a fast paced finance team in a similar position
