Currently we have a new opportunity for a Electrical Designer based at our site in Peterborough and working with sites across the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • You will design electrical panel and field installations, from concept to on-site commissioning relating to automated control systems.
  • You will use AutoCAD to generate panel layouts and bills of materials, electrical control schematic diagrams, instrument loop diagrams, PLC wiring diagrams and I/O schedules, machinery safety circuit design and risk assessments to BS EN ISO 13849/60261.
  • You will prepare commissioning & technical documents
  • Carry out LV distribution and cable calculations (using Amtech software).

Skills & Experience

We value everyone’s skills and experiences but for this role are looking for people who have:

  • Strong electrical design background, within an industrial (manufacturing) environment and be familiar with safe working practices
  • Strong knowledge and experience of on-site commissioning relating to automated control systems (highly desirable)
  • An understanding of component SIL and machine PL ratings would be an advantage, however, training can be provided
  • Knowledge/experience of machine safety and safety circuits, AutoCAD and PLC control wiring systems, instrumentation and motor started control types
  • An electrical qualification (i.e. City & Guilds / BTEC / NVQ3 / HNC), together with and a City & Guilds 17th or 18th Edition
