Currently, we have a new opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk / Purchase Ledger Clerk based at our Uddingston Site

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure invoices are processed, registered and managed proactively, resolving queries wherever possible
  • Matching delivery notes to invoices or obtaining internal sign off where appropriate and resolving queries wherever possible
  • To assist in driving best practice for Accounts Payable within the business
  • Liaising with suppliers over invoice and payment issues
  • Process subcontractor invoices, matching to order and approval with operational management
  • Ensure correct principals of CIS are adhered to where relevant and liaise with procurement teams if queries exist
  • Provide regular updates on likely cashflow payments given individual payment terms and use of alternative payment methods
  • Ensure supplier statement reconciliations are performed on a regular basis on a sample of key suppliers each month
  • To process journals for recharges of Group invoices such as, but not limited to, fuel cards, private medical insurance, insurance etc
  • To provide information, support and analysis to the Management Accounts team for strategic and operational decisions
  • To develop close working relationships with internal customers to fully understand the business as well as establish a credible & effective network of contacts.
  • Adhere to Group policies and processes within the department
Skills & Experience

  • Some knowledge of the subcontractor and CIS processes prevalent in the construction sector (an advantage)
